A League –  Round 9 (17 November 2025)

The A League served up one of the most exciting weeks of the season so far, with roaring comebacks, knife-edge finishes, and some of the year’s biggest individual performances. Title contenders flexed their muscles… and a few teams found new heroes.

 🔥 Moore Dixon Jaguars 4 – 0 Argosy

The league leaders survive a scare and then unleash their full power.

Argosy came to fight — and they very nearly shook the tree. Two five-set classics opened the night, both overflowing with drama.

Joshua Green def. Ashley Sandyford-Sykes 3–2

11-8, 9-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-4
Green was on the ropes at 1–2 down, but champions rise in the big moments. He locked onto the T, ramped up the tempo, and unleashed a storm in games 4 and 5 to drag the Jaguars into the lead.

Shaun Wyllie def. Richard Cretney 3–2

9-11, 11-3, 6-11, 11-2, 11-7
Another epic. Wyllie and Cretney traded games like heavyweight boxers. Every time Cretney landed a tactical punch, Wyllie countered with an even bigger one. In the fifth, Wyllie found an extra gear and surged home to extend the lead.

Jaguars finally began to breathe in the lower strings…

Toby Woolard def. Magnus Lamprecht 3–1

Woolard steadied the ship after dropping the first, taking control and never letting go.

Lance Wyllie def. David O’Neill 3–0

A tense opening game (15–13!) set the tone, but once Wyllie edged that one, he flowed through the next two.

💬 Overall: Jaguars survive an early ambush before rolling to a dominant 4–0 win. Champions’ mentality on full display.

 🔥 Cannell Print 3 – 1 Team Aon

A powerhouse performance keeps the pressure on the league leaders.

Cannell Print showed up ready to make a statement — and they delivered three commanding wins to stay firmly in the title race.

Thomas Whiteway defeated Mason McLarney 3–0

Whiteway didn’t just win — he commanded. Ruthless, accurate, and untouchable in the third game.

Ben Peach def. Nathan Quilliam 3–1

This was a war. Peach stole a huge third game 12–10 and then rode that momentum like a tidal wave. Quality squash from both.

Liam Townsend def. Phil Butler 3–1

Townsend was rock-solid — consistent length, smart pressure, and ice-cold decision-making in the key rallies.

Aon did get one back:

Fraser Dorling def. Alan Macnair 3–0

Dorling played one of his best matches of the season, especially in a blistering second game.

💬 Overall: Cannell Print have the look of a team hunting for the title — controlled, dangerous, and relentless.

 🔥 Crazy Billions 3 – 1 Pat’s Pals

Match of the night, comeback of the night, drama of the night — all in one tie.

This fixture was pure mayhem. Crazy Billions dropped the top string but then launched an electric team surge, including a 15-13 thriller and a pair of clutch mid-match turnarounds.

Patrick Fitzpatrick def. Hamish Thornton 3–1

Thornton snatched the opener — then Fitzpatrick detonated, taking the next two games with overwhelming intensity. Classy finish in the fourth.

Mark Webster-Smith def. Harvey Douglas 3–1

11-9, 9-11, 12-10, 15-13 — unreal drama.
This match had everything: lung-burning rallies, desperate retrievals, and outrageous shot-making. Webster-Smith pulled off two escape acts, taking both tiebreak games with steel-nerved precision.

Chris Walton def. Oliver Wait 3–1

Walton regained control after Wait edged a tense second game. From there, Walton dictated — smart, patient, lethal.

David Freer def. Emma Leith 3–2

The comeback of the night.
Down 1–2, Freer recalibrated, sharpened his accuracy, and stormed through the final two games. Leith played brilliantly throughout, but Freer’s experience carried him home.
