C League- Round 7 (11 November 2025)
A fiercely competitive week in the C League saw Crazy Jacks Barbershop, Falcons, and Island Exhaust & Autocare secure important victories, with several fixtures decided by dramatic battles and one match ending in injury.
Dragons 2 – 3 Crazy Jacks Barbershop
Crazy Jacks Barbershop claimed the tie 3–2 in a fixture highlighted by determination, momentum swings, and an unfortunate injury withdrawal.
Jones Retires After Strong Start
At first string, Beth Jones surged into a 2–0 lead over Jonathan Gower-Jackson, taking the opening games 15–11 and 15–13 with composed shot selection and early pressure.
Gower-Jackson responded well, taking the third and fourth games (15–11, 15–8) to level the contest.
However, Jones was forced to retire injured at the end of the fourth game, giving Gower-Jackson the match.
Result: Gower-Jackson won 3–2 (11–15, 13–15, 15–11, 15–8, retired)
Highy Levels the Tie
Stuart Highy produced an excellent performance to defeat Aleyn Taggart 3–0 (15–12, 19–17, 15–8), including a marathon second game.
Alexander Restores the Lead
Lee Alexander delivered a composed 3–0 victory against Andy McLarney (15–7, 15–9, 15–11).
Dixon Forces the Decider
A gritty showing from Andy Dixon earned the Dragons a 3–1 win over Matt Ripley (15–9, 12–15, 15–11, 15–8), pushing the fixture to a deciding rubber.
Smith Secures It for Crazy Jacks
In the final match, Darren Smith defeated Scott Jones 3–0 (15–6, 15–12, 15–10), securing the 3–2 victory for Crazy Jacks Barbershop.
Hansard Racketeers 2 – 3 Falcons
The Falcons earned a valuable away victory, supported by disciplined performances at key strings.
Falcons Open with a Strong Start
Greg Ansara beat Mark Harrop 3–0 (15–13, 15–8, 15–10) to put the visitors ahead.
Johnson Brings the Racketeers Back
David Johnson levelled the tie with a hard-fought 3–1 win over Elliot Henson (10–15, 15–13, 15–9, 15–12).
Falcons Reclaim the Lead
Lewi L claimed a competitive straight-games win against Lucy Kerr (15–13, 15–10, 17–15), surviving a tense third game.
Beard Forces Another Decider
Charlie Beard produced a strong 3–1 victory over Vusimbe Zivave (15–10, 15–11, 11–15, 15–4), pushing the match to 2–2.
Cretney Clinches the Tie
Despite brave resistance from Daryl Richards, Kevin Cretney closed out the fixture 3–0 (18–16, 17–15, 15–13), with all three games decided by the tightest of margins.
Junior Academy 1 – 4 Island Exhaust & Autocare
Island Exhaust & Autocare produced a confident performance, taking four of the five rubbers.
Larkin Takes a Thriller
Callum Larkin earned the Academy’s only point with a superb 3–2 victory over Mark Grace (16–14, 10–15, 11–15, 15–6, 15–10), showcasing excellent resilience.

The remaining matches went firmly in favour of the visitors:
Mark Stratford beat Thomas McAleer 3–0 (15–6, 16–14, 15–13)
Peter Sharples defeated Ryan Boshoff 3–0 (15–9, 15–7, 15–4)
Gerrit du Toit overcame Jiayue Kang 3–0 (15–7, 15–6, 15–12)
Philip Shaw won 3–0 against Rory Hughes (15–8, 15–9, 15–13)
A strong all-round display secured Island Exhaust & Autocare a 4–1 victory.
