FALCONS SOAR TO THE TOP OF THE C LEAGUE!
The final week before the Christmas break delivered a dramatic twist at the very summit — Falcons have officially taken over first place, leapfrogging Crazy Jacks Barbershop after a huge 3–2 win in their head-to-head showdown.
Their comeback victory, powered by Simpson, Lewi, and Zivave, has flipped the entire title picture going into the festive break.
Crazy Jacks, who have led almost the entire first half, now slip into second — still within touching distance, but suddenly no longer in control of their own destiny.
C League – Final Matches Before Christmas Break (2 Dec 2025)
The C League saved its best drama for the final week before the festive shutdown, delivering five-set thrillers, massive momentum swings, heroic battles from both experience and youth, and a table that now tightens beautifully heading into the new year.
🐉 Hansard Racketeers vs Dragons
The Dragons arrived breathing fire — and this fixture delivered the most competitive rubber-for-rubber contest of the entire first half.
Match 1 — Harrop vs Highy: 2–3
An epic. Both players traded long rallies and razor-thin games, finally going to 18–16 in the fifth. Highy held his nerve to steal it, giving Dragons the perfect start.
Match 2 — Johnson vs McLarney: 2–3
Another five-set marathon! Johnson produced his best squash of the season, but McLarney refused to go away and finished strongest.
Match 3 — Beard vs Jones: 3–1
Beard dragged Hansard back into the tie with clean hitting and composure in the big points.
Match 4 — Richards vs Freer: 3–1
Richards’ energy swung the momentum further toward Hansard, clawing the tie level overall.
Match 5 — Wright vs Gilardoni: 1–3
Courtney Gilardoni — returning to squash this season after eight years out — put in another classy performance. Wright fought back to take the third, but Gilardoni closed the match in style to secure the overall victory for Dragons.
🟩 Result: Dragons steal a 3–2 overall win — and what a battle it was.
💈 Crazy Jacks Barbershop vs Falcons
A heavyweight clash between two sides chasing the top. Crazy Jacks started fast, but Falcons hit back hard.
Match 1 — Gower-Jackson vs Hedley: 3–0
Jonathan Gower-Jackson was ruthless, barely putting a foot wrong.
Match 2 — Taggart vs Henson: 3–1
A quality match — Henson took the opener before Taggart’s pace and accuracy took over.
Match 3 — Alexander vs Simpson: 1–3
Sarah Simpson was rock-solid, absorbing pressure and countering brilliantly.
Match 4 — Goodall vs Lewi L.: 0–3
Lewi was clinical and dominant, levelling the overall tie.
Match 5 — D. Smith vs Zivave: 0–3
Vusimbe Zivave put on a finishing masterclass, sealing a big comeback for Falcons.
🟦 Result: Falcons win 3–2 — an important swing in the top-half battle.
🐣 Junior Academy vs Racket Raiders
This fixture was full of momentum swings — and may be the most entertaining Junior Academy performance of the half-season.
Match 1 — Pitts vs Townsend: 3–2
Match of the day. Both players went for broke, but Stephen Pitts edged the marathon 18–16 in the fifth.
Match 2 — Mcalear vs Mertin: 3–2
Another five-setter! Junior Academy surged to a 2–0 team lead with gutsy determination.
Match 3 — Boshoff vs E. Cannan: 2–3
Ewan Cannan dragged Raiders back into the tie with great consistency under pressure.
Match 4 — Hughes vs Taylor: 0–3
Wayne Taylor delivered a commanding performance to pull Raiders level.
Match 5 — Kang vs McKee: 3–0
A brilliant display from Jiayue Kang — cool, tidy squash — securing the overall victory.
🟧 Result: Junior Academy win 3–2 — a huge morale-boosting result heading into Christmas.
