C League Tournament - 6th December 2025
On the 6th December IOM Squash ran a competition aimed between brand new players up to C League standard with every level in between. We saw 8 year olds battling their pals and 65 year olds returning back to squash to give it their all. Split into 4 grades Harrison CALLOW took the A-Grade away from Jonathan GOWER-JACKSON in a nail biting finale. B-Grade was taken at the last hurdle by David JOHNSON who was able to just pip Phil WHITTAM. Both Mark GRACE and Allen MERTIN were awarded player of their respective grades.
Grades C and D were taken up by brand new players and juniors. Although marked and refereed, this was all about taking part and learning about squash and competing. Some of our top squash players on the Island have offered their time to do some one on one coaching to reward the efforts of the players. Special awards were given out in C and D grades which centred around integrity, good value and sportsmanship. Teddy TANG scooped up the best newcomer with his motivation on court. Ryan VISSER took the effort trophy due to his constant commitment on court. Finlo MANNING showed great sportsman ship on court and was given the Squash Values award. Both Kate ARLOW and Ryan BOSHOFF showed their commitment and effort throughout the competition and were awarded accordingly. If there was enough awards every player would have been rewarded for their efforts.
The most well attended competition of the season to date with 35 entries. Well done to all that took part.
