Super Cup Round-Up (Round 2)– 12 January 2026
The SuperCup made its debut after the festive break, delivering five hard-fought encounters packed with five-game thrillers, momentum swings, and standout individual performances across the Island.
Cannell Print edge AON in a classic
Cannell Print and AON produced one of the matches of the night, with Cannell Print grinding out a narrow overall victory.
Top string Ben Peach and Jason Crease set the tone with a pulsating five-game battle, Peach eventually holding his nerve to take the decider 11–6. Momentum stayed with Cannell Print as Damien Loughrey delivered a commanding straight-games win over Dafydd Lewis.
AON struck back strongly through Nathan Quilliam, who dismantled Greg Ansara in three, and Fraser Dorling, who edged past Sarah Simpson in four tight games. The tie ultimately swung back Cannell Print’s way when Dasa Brynjolffssen sealed a crucial straight-games win over Robin Crease, underlining the importance of strength in depth at Super League level.
Racketeers overcome Outcasts
Racketeers made a strong statement against the Outcasts, anchored by composed performances across the middle order.
George Rumney was clinical in his straight-games win over Mark Henson, while Aleyn Taggart showed resilience and shot selection to overcome Stuart Highy in four games, including a dramatic third game that slipped away 18–16 before Taggart regrouped to close the match.
Outcasts found success through Peter Ginty, who battled past Stephen Pitts in four, but Racketeers had already done enough to secure the tie.
Pats Pals dominate Argosy
Pats Pals produced one of the most convincing team performances of the round, sweeping past Argosy with authority.
Patrick Fitzpatrick, Ben Leith, and Oliver Wait all delivered high-quality squash, with Wait involved in the match of the tie, edging Robert Smith 12–10 in a tense fifth game.
Argosy’s lone success came through spirited resistance in individual games, but Pats Pals’ consistency and pressure proved decisive. Harrison Callow capped the night with a composed four-game win over Dave Hedley, ensuring maximum points.
Moore Dixon Jaguars outlast CES Sharks
CES Sharks and Moore Dixon Jaguars served up one of the most competitive fixtures of the evening.
At second string, Shaun Wyllie dug deep to edge past Chris Walton in a gruelling five-game contest, setting the tone for the Jaguars. Further wins from Toby Woolard and Lance Wyllie extended their advantage.
CES Sharks showed real fight, particularly through Mark Stratford, who turned in a powerful four-game win over Clare Townsend, but the Jaguars’ consistency across the order proved decisive.
