Argosy vs Cannell Print
This was a real nail-biter, with three matches going the full distance. David Norman got Argosy off to the perfect start, edging out Thomas Whiteway 13–11 in the fifth after a topsy-turvy contest. Malcolm Levy looked on course to double the advantage, but Liam Townsend fought back strongly, clinching a marathon fifth 15–13 to level the tie. Richard Cretney and Damien Loughrey traded blows in another five-setter, with Loughrey proving just too strong in the decider. Robert Colquitt then sealed victory for Cannell Print with a straight-games win over David O’Neill, giving the printers a hard-earned 3–1 overall triumph.
Crazy Billions vs Moore Dixon Jaguars
The Jaguars kept their title challenge alive with a 2–2 draw against Crazy Billions. Joshua Green set the tone for the visitors, beating Ashley Sandyford-Sykes in straight games, before Hamish Thornton levelled matters with a dominant win over Shaun Wyllie. Chris Walton and Toby Woolard served up a rollercoaster, Walton recovering from a 0–2 deficit to take it in five and put Crazy Billions ahead. But Lance Wyllie was clinical against David Freer, restoring parity for the Jaguars. Honours even, and both sides could take positives from a fiercely fought tie.
Pat’s Pals vs Team Aon
Patrick Fitzpatrick gave his side a flying start with a commanding 3–0 win over Robin Crease. But Team Aon responded with ruthless efficiency, Jason Crease levelling before Mason McLarney fought through four tough games to edge past Ben Leith. Nathan Quilliam then wrapped up proceedings with a confident straight-games victory over Isaac Quayle. Team Aon’s 3–1 win keeps them firmly in the mix at the top end of the table.
