Merseyside Closed Report

A team of 5 represented the Island at the Merseyside Squash Championships. Ashley Sandiford-Sykes at number 1 dominated his matches outright winning his category.

Rich Cretney at number 2 was part of the closest category within the tournament and played some very experienced players amongst the Merseyside lineup. Rich made it through to the final 3 losing out at the last point.

Dave O’Neill, our more experienced player played exceptionally well and regained the the over 65 category that he last won 2 years ago for the Island.

Harrison Callow played his first competition off island as an adult and gained some great experience and did the Island proud winning against some great players.

Stephen Pitts took to the courts with his usual positive attitude and came away with a bagel (if you know, you know).

The Island championships are being held next month so anybody interested in some great squash please enter, or failing that come down and watch.
