B League Squash – 16th October 2025
The Isle of Man Squash B League produced another thrilling round of matches this week, packed with close contests and five-set nail-biters that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.
At the NSC, the Racketeers Pioneers edged a superbly competitive fixture against Mavericks. Ben Leith fought back from 2-1 down to clinch the opener 15-5 in the fifth against Liam Townsend, setting the tone for an epic evening. Emma Leith also delivered a hard-earned five-setter over Robert Colquitt, while Isaac Quayle added another marathon win, defeating Robert Smith 3-2 in a see-saw encounter. Richard Cretney showed his experience for Mavericks with a solid 3-1 victory over Fraser Dorling, and Magnus Lamprecht rounded off the card for the visitors with a strong straight-games win over Harry Douthwaite. The match finished 3-2 to the Pioneers after a string of matches decided by just a few rallies.
Meanwhile, Outcasts were in dominant form against Squash Squad, taking the tie 4-1. Lance Wyllie and Mark Henson both won convincingly in straight games, while Peter Ginty held his nerve in a tight four-setter against Aleyn Taggart. Jonathan Gower-Jackson also picked up a 3-0 win, but Clare Townsend prevented a clean sweep for Squash Squad with a spirited fightback, defeating Stuart Highy 3-1 after dropping the opening game.
With so many matches going the distance, the B League continues to showcase both determination and depth across all teams. Every point looks like it will matter as the title race heats up in the coming weeks.
