Dragons vs Hansard Racketeers – 2–3
Hansard Racketeers narrowly edged Dragons in a series of gripping matches.
Beth Jones gave Dragons an early lead with a thrilling 3–1 victory over Mark Harrop, including two nail-biting sets that went 17–15 and 16–14.
Andy Dixon and Scott Jones were unable to match the experience of their opponents, losing 0–3 to Harry Douthwaite and Charlie Beard.
Helen Freer fought hard but fell 1–3 to Daryl Richards, and the final rubber between Ben Arthur and Andy Dalrymple went all five games, ending 3–2 to Hansard Racketeers in a match packed with tension and long rallies.
Falcons vs Crazy Jacks Barbershop – 2–3
Crazy Jacks Barbershop clinched a narrow win in a tightly contested battle.
Jonathan Gower-Jackson came through 3–1 against Dave Hedley, while Aleyn Taggart held off Greg Ansara in a dramatic five-set thriller, 19–17 in the final game.
Lee Alexander defeated Elliot Henson 3–1, but Falcons’ Vusimbe Zivave and Jon Cox fought back with 3–0 wins, keeping the match suspenseful until the final rubber.
Racket Raiders vs Junior Academy – 3–2
Racket Raiders secured victory in a series of impressive performances.
Clare Townsend, Aaron Rumney, and Phil Whittam all recorded straight-set wins against Junior Academy opponents.
Junior Academy battled valiantly, with Ewan Cannan and Matthew McKee scoring 3–0 victories in the final rubbers, highlighting the league’s competitive depth and the promising talent rising through the ranks.
