IOM Squash B League – 23rd October 2025
The latest round of B League fixtures saw fierce competition and several standout performances as teams continue to battle for crucial mid-season points.
Outcasts produced a superb home performance to defeat the high-flying Mavericks 3–2 in one of the closest matches of the campaign. Lance Wyllie set the tone with an excellent 3–1 victory over Liam Townsend, combining controlled power with clever shot placement. Nathan Quilliam followed up with a confident straight-games win over Richard Cretney, and George Rumney added another straight-sets success in three tight games against Robert Smith, two of which went to extra points.
The Mavericks fought back late in the tie thanks to Magnus Lamprecht, who overcame Jonathan Gower-Jackson in three well-contested games, and Harrison Callow, who sealed a strong 3–0 win over Stuart Highy. Despite their late surge, it wasn’t enough to stop the Outcasts from taking a valuable victory that boosts their position in the table.
Meanwhile, Racketeers Pioneers continued their impressive form with a 4–1 away win over Sharks, though the scoreline didn’t reflect the closeness of several matches. Ben Leith and David Freer put on a thrilling five-game contest that went back and forth before Leith edged the decider 15–8. Fraser Dorling and Isaac Quayle both added convincing wins for the visitors, while James Leith showed composure in another five-set battle against Mark Stratford, recovering from a two-game deficit to win 3–2.
Greg Ansara provided some consolation for the Sharks, claiming a well-earned 3–1 win over David Johnson after a hard-fought opening game. The Racketeers Pioneers’ consistency across all positions continues to mark them as one of the teams to beat this season.
The B League remains finely balanced as several sides push to close the gap on the leaders heading into the next round.
